How To Add LiveChat To Your Squarespace Website

Adding LiveChat* to your Squarespace website is easier than you might think! Taking advantage of this simple integration can significantly enhance your customer support and engagement.

In today’s world, people want answers instantly. And if they don’t get an instant answer from you, unfortunately they might just move onto the next. The speed in which you answer a potential customer’s question could actually be the difference between making a sale or not.

A LiveChat* widget on your website allows your customers to quickly interact with a real human and get the information they want, when they want it. This can lead to more sales, a more credible/ trustworthy reputation and more.

This user-friendly solution allows you to connect with your website visitors in real-time, providing instant assistance and building stronger relationships with your audience. Follow these simple steps below to add LiveChat* to your Squarespace website today.

Benefits of LiveChat + Squarespace Integration:

  • Increase sales and conversions! You can answer potential customer’s questions while they are still on your website and in a buyers mindset (and with their credit card out!). LiveChat gives you the opportunity to hold your buyer’s hand, help them overcome any objectives, and walk them towards making a purchase.

  • Gives you a competitive edge. As I mentioned earlier, if someone doesn’t get an answer from you, they may just move onto the next. So by giving your customers an easy way to connect with you, you’re giving yourself a leg up in the competition.

  • Build trust with buyers. People are naturally skeptical of buying things online from strangers. Which is totally understandable! LiveChat can help to increase customer engagement and as a result, make your business more credible and trustworthy. You’re able to have a real conversation with a potential customer and help them feel more connected to an actual person.

  • It’s a super convenient way to engage with your customers and answer their questions. Instead of taking the time to draft a formal, professional email every-time you need to answer a question, simply whip out your phone and send a simple, straight-to-the-point response. A live chat widget is almost like a text message. Customers are usually expecting a more casual experience. So this can save you time and even make you seem a little more hip :)

LiveChat + Squarespace Features:

  • Connect to text messages. Get notified via text about incoming messages.

  • Download the LiveChat mobile app and answer messages quickly on the go.

  • See what customers are typing before they hit send. Craft your response and have it ready to go.

  • See where your customer is located. Provide an informed response based on their location.

  • Assign chats to members of your team. Not sure the answer to their question? Or know someone else in your team would help them better? Quickly send that person along to the right team member.

  • Track your team’s performance. What’s your customer satisfaction rate? How fast is your team responding to messages? This information can help you improve your systems and workflow.

  • Connect to MailChimp and grow your email list. Allow your users to sign up for your newsletter directly from the chat widget.

  • Customize the widget to match your website’s branding.

  • See all the visitors browsing your website in real time. Check what pages they were reading and proactively start a chat when they need help.

  • Finding yourself answering the same question over and over again? Quickly save responses to common questions. Reuse them in conversations with just a few keystrokes.

How do I add the LiveChat plugin to Squarespace?

STEP #1 Signup FOR LIVECHAT

  1. Sign up for a free LiveChat trial account*

  2. When you’re ready to upgrade to a paid account, click the “Upgrade Now” button in the blue announcement bar at the top of your LiveChat dashboard. Select whichever plan best suits your needs.

STEP #2 Install THE LIVECHAT CODE IN SQUARESPACE

  1. Click Install LiveChat yourself (don’t worry, this is very easy!). Copy the provided code.

  2. Click the Website tab from your website’s main menu, then Pages. Scroll down to Utilities and click Website Tools » Code Injection

  3. Under Code Injection, copy and paste the code into the FOOTER field

  4. Reload your website and the LiveChat should now appear in the bottom right corner. That’s it!

STEP #3 Invite Team Members (OPTIONAL)

  1. Add email address for individuals who you’d like to provide access to your LiveChat account. These people will be able to manage the dashboard and reply to incoming messages.

STEP #4 Customize (OPTIONAL)

  1. Click on “Settings” (left hand side, towards the bottom).

  2. Under “Chat Widget” you will see options to customize the appearance of your LiveChat widget. Don’t worry - once you make changes in the LiveChat dashboard, the changes will automatically apply to your website. So you won’t need to ever touch that code again!

  3. Play around with the remainder of the chat’s settings. Customize until the feature is properly suited to your business and it’s needs.
